Airfix Robinhood Conversions

Converted yesterday..painted today. The first pic shows the archer conversion from the post about swopping heads.(Actually, not only have they swopped heads...but by the looks of things...sides as well!!)

All the same figure..the "assassin" (far right) has had an arm swop from an Italeri archer, bow + hand from the running bod in the same set, hood made from ....toilet  paper :- D

Shields are printed and stuck on thin cardboard and then simply attached to the bods with Loctite 401.

  3. Looking good! That's the fun part of plastic, that is lacking in metal. Conversions can be a lot of fun.

  6. Thanks mate...
The idea is not mine I have to admit, it comes from Michel (who sent me some PD`s with tons of shield patterns, including Pavian´s) and Thomas Willers...all I have done use thin cardboard for the backing to help stiffen the shields, then I painted them black, then brown and scratched with a pin to get a sort of wood effect.

  7. Great work Paul, very crisp painting and converting :)

Would those shield patterns also include patterns for the Low Countries?

The shield patterns..?? I will have to have a look ...Michel sent me a couple of PDF sides...the one I´m using at the moment is mostly cut up and seems to have a lot of blue white /red black lozenge patterns.

  9. Nice conversions. Is the spear something you built or did it come from another 1/72 kit?
