Airfix Nato ground crew

West told me to tell him when I started with 20th centuary bods , so here mate...I´ve started!! :-D
By a coincidence Tim Gow of Megablitz and more posted the Airfix USAAF at the same time. Unlike me, who cheated by using a picture to create a dio, Tim  did a proper job of work and made a dio to go with them.. Tim´s Airfix USAAF Ground crew

  1. That's spooky! I have just been taking some photos for posts on the three WW2 ground crew sets. They're not as nicely painted as you guys though. Some lovely poses in the NATO set.

  4. I think you did very well to capture the three pairs of Falcons taking off in the background - one pair in each shot. Did you make a special arrangement with the base commander?

  5. No..there was something going on, some sort of emergency...they were all scrambled within ten minutes of each other, Luckily I had got the shot of the pilot first as he had to run to take part. if you look closely you can see him waving in the last shot, the plane on the left.:-D

welcome Dom...I read your story about your grandfather...sounds like he was a great bloke

  7. Really great paint job! How do you get so much depth in your painting? The Top Gun pilot and the bio-suit with the spanner are my favourites!

Now I want to watch Hot Shots!

  8. Paul you got to tell me your secret. Do you have dwarfs or gobblins working under your desk painting bods? The rate that you paint and post is amazing. How can you do it? And more important How can I?

  10. Thanks :-)
To paint is easy...to paint lots is a matter of organization...jsut do several things at once..don´t try to do a lot in one go...sounds silly but it works. I am painting at the moment..4 tuetonic foot, finishing a WWI Male tank, 4 french knights and am now starting to to do one or two valdemar civiliansand do the basing for the WWI tank. Last week I finished 2 hussite war wagons with the men and one woman, a mounted tuetonic master...(a new conversion from an Italeri bod not the Valdemar one) and some 54mm romans from Italeri. I´ll get the pics up soon. Backache prevented me from doing more.
The goblins do the rest ;-D
    Cheers
