A mean bunch of Pirates led by
"capn" Jack Dore.
I´ve slightly converted a couple from the
original poses, the bod digging now is part of the gun crew, and I shortened the hair on the female being taken prisoner.
This lot will take up life in the world of Bodstonia...well, maybe the skeleton won´t take up life there... :-D
|
The females in the crew. |
|
The cannon is a two piece thing and the barrel looks a bit long but it´s still a nice piece. |
|
They seem pretty successful..loads of treasure and grog. |
|
"Capn" Jack Dore |
|
"ARRRH me hearties!" |
|
Confusedly looking for buried treasure |
|
What is he doing!? Blowpipe? A straw for sneaking ale from the barrel? |
|
The winner of the "shove the barrel along the ground whilst laying on your back" comp and the looser. |
fffff
Paul,
ReplyDeleteThese look much better painted than the slightly crude castings. The "captured" female could make a good dancer or cheering woman rather than a captive in pain. Good choice.
Very nice story, and wonderful pictures! Nice conversions...and great looser!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Phil.
Looks like another set I need to investigate for my imagi-nation project.
ReplyDeleteLike the scene a lot Paul, of course the woman are my favorites!
ReplyDeleteYou done it again, a nice story with lot to see.
So a Big compliment from this small man ;)
Great looking set Paul!
ReplyDeleteI'll be raising a bottle of rum to me lips to honor the fair (and not so fair) women of the crew! The poor sod that lost the barrel rolling contest-I'll open a second bottle in his memory!
ReplyDeleteAnd now you just need a ship for them to sail on. And if the pirates have a ship then, of course, the Royal Navy will need a ship to chase them in. And it goes without saying that you will need to paint up the crew and the Marines. You better get started!
ReplyDeleteThey already have one ship..but another may have to be constructed for the navy bods to get after them.

A right shower of blackgurads Paul, very nicely done!
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a bummer to loose your treasure! Great job on these Ocean Going Businessmen.
ReplyDeleteExcellent looking figures and superbly painted Sir!
ReplyDeleteThanks :-D
ReplyDeleteGun too big for it´s carriage? The sort of comment I´m used to hearing :-D
Cheers
Paul
Excellent work on these fellows!
ReplyDeleteI see what I can do with the Navy Bods! Must find a ship for them that is going your way! ;-D
Greetings

Got to love a bunch of no good pirates eh?
ReplyDeleteIan
Superb painting and figures.
ReplyDeletenice work paul. keep up the interesting and exiting work
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure the second to last guy is blowing on the sails to make the ship go faster.
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty odd pose...it looks either like a blowpipe or a drinking straw..I can´t work out what he´s supposed to be doing..
DeleteMay I be the first to say "aarrrrr!"?
ReplyDeleteGreat looking bunch of ne'erdowells Paul :)
aarr..that you may :-D
DeleteThanks Tasmin
More Pirates, less global warning says I!

"......Henderson presented the argument that "global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters are a direct effect of the shrinking numbers of pirates since the 1800s."[7] A....."
Brilliant! The church of the flying spaghetti! Never heard of this lot...it´s well worth a read though...

Looks like a fun bunch of sculpts to paint. Now all you need is a ship!
ReplyDeleteThey have a ship.....here;

You always find such wonderful Bods to tempt us with, more joyous pieces of plastic Paul.
ReplyDeletewhen I saw this set on PSR did not like it very much. I must say that after your work I changed my mind!
ReplyDeleteNice work and nice comments below the pictures. Made my day!
ReplyDeleteThere is still an island in the Pacific with descendants of men like these, left over from the Bounty. They speak an 18th century style of English there to this day full of pirate slang and other quaint expressions. Unfortunately the replica HMS Bounty sank yesterday in the hurricane with loss of two lives.
