Big Bang........theory

The FIREBALL XX1 is ready for the big day.  Now towed out of the top secret hanger...
.............Pre/flight checks are carried out.........
..fuel is loaded, ignition systems checked and rechecked and....
...the Pilot, Major Stephan Ostin, poses proudly for one last publicity shot before....
..the FIREBALL is taxied to the start ramp and the countdown Begins...
The flight (as usual) didn´t go entirely according to plan. A Crash investigation Team has recovered the wreckage and Initial reports assume a total failure of the main drive Systems..possibly due to a fuel leak.

  1. Love it! I thought you found one of my early constructions of plastic kit ME 163 for a moment there! Did it actually get airborne before the catastrophic explosion (again a bit ME 163 like!) :-)

    Best wishes with future launches!

    1. Thanks Jason. It is based on the 163 and did fly a short way before Spinning out of control and exploding. I made a film but it doesn´t upload to Blogger.

    1. Happy new year :-D
It is based on a 163 design. I didn´t want to use my model and decided to only have one "engine". Having two, like on the 163 would mean both rockets would have to fire at exactly the same time..

    1. Have a great 2014 as well :-D It survived the flight last year but this year I think the end cap remained stuck tight and created the Explosion. Still..next year ir will be better..and actually fly a bit further.

  5. You know it has to end in tears, first working bombards, then planes, I think you need to NOT build the A-Bomb ;-)
