First wave. Normans, Turcopoles, Crusaders/Teutonics. One of the bods (top right Corner, second wave) was tipped over by one of our Cats. This was only noticed after I´d posted the pics.
Second wave. 100yrs war French and English, English WotR´s, Scottish wars of independance Scotts and English
Waiting / Command.
*Another 50 plus, Magna carter barons, Normans still not based, but they will have to wait as the mounted Fantasy bods are next for basing....it´s too hot to actually paint anything.
Wow.
ReplyDeleteI'd swear there's an Airfix Sheriff of Nottingham knight in the sixth photo, at the bottom, black horse with green barding.
Correct :-) There´s three in that pic..all the bottom left. The sherrif himself, is somewhere in the middle of the second battalion. Another of his men turns up in pic 7.
DeleteI was blown away by the massed photo but the close ups are just incredible! The colours and heraldry make for some proper eye candy.
ReplyDeleteThanks matey :-) I daren´t think how many hours that went into them. If I´d have stuck the time into overtime or a second job...I´d be rich!!!:-)
DeleteYeah but overtime or work hours wouldn't have being that much fun.
DeleteOh my word Paul, what a wonderful sight! Absolutely tremendous Sir.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael :-)
DeleteWow, you know how to make a fella green with envy!. Amazing collection you have there. I could look at them all day.
ReplyDeleteAwesome does not do justice to this display Paul. I'm going to go with Wonderous. Looking forward to the Fantasy bods.
ReplyDeleteTalk about mass effect!
ReplyDeleteStunning! I bet that is the nearest I will ever get to seeing a real Medieval cavalry charge!
ReplyDeleteRespect and admiration friend
ReplyDeleteWell done !
:)
Wow! Those are some fun pics! What brought this on? Did you think to yourself “just how many mounted medieval guys do I have anyway?” 😀
ReplyDeleteVery impressive collection. Great!
Thanks Stew.
DeleteI was asked a while back after I posted the "medieval Lords and ladies" list as to how big my Collection is. Since then I´ve been considering an Audit and posting pics of the Collection but seeing as it fills dozens of storage boxes, any pics of the entire lot in one go would be like a pic of a City taken from several miles up so I´ll have to break the Collection up into themed chunks. Even the medieval cavalry isn´t entirely complete, there´s at least another 50 painted but not based and a few more based I found in other Groups after Clearing the above lot away. If all were included it would be closer to 500.
An amazing horde of mounted men. Great spectre of all your works.
ReplyDeleteJust WOW!
ReplyDeleteWOW.... As always, the quality and quantity of your output is humbling... Brilliant stuff...
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a remarkable collection. Makes me want to hunt out my Henry V DVD for a watch!
