Scratch built Celtic Chariot

Tried to make a copy of the model of a celtic chariot in the celtic museum in Hallein, Austria.  It isn´t a 100% sucess but near enough.
The horses are from airfix as is the driver. the "beserker" is from the Italeri Celtic cavalry.

  2. It's certainly more elegant than my old Airfix British chariots! Good work.

  4. Thanks Tim...I also converted a couple of Airfix chariots a few years back....to make them look more "realistic" I might put up the pics if I am brave (or drunk) enough.

PS...I removed my previous comment due to atrocious spelling but how do I get rid of it completely??

  7. Hey Paul, I hope the check is on the way? You made a very good copy ;-)

I've seen it live at Hallein, and you don't see before you come around the corner where it stands. It's scary you know ;-)

  9. The rear charioteer and reins give it a lot of energy, but very subtly. As paulalba says, you can sense the motion.

  10. Paul,

Wonderful work - the detail on the chariot structure is partularly impressive for me. I certainly salute you for such dedicate to the (slightly) smaller scale of 1/72. Not sure I could go that far. Great to look at.

  12. Great model!!!!
I always loved the Hallein reconstruction.
I would like such a model for my collection.
Is there a possibility you could make another one on commission? Never mind the painting. This I could do myself.
    Thanks
    Philip
