Medieval Citizens

This lot are painted up for my Medieval city aka medieval fantasy game. The pic makes thier faces look a bit bright...I can honestly say that in real life they aren´t so bright...Honest. :-D
These are I think, to be arranged in a group. The two in the middle are in the act of grovelling to the well dressed bod on the far left. The woman is either his wife or a standerby.
Hello to Berislav Veszilic and Elizabeth Mueller.
Berislav´s blog Miniature Models of WWII does what the titel says, shows his work on WWII AFV´s, 1/32nd and 1/72nd scale...lots of great looking stuff, builds and dios.
Elizabeth is a Mother, Illustrator, Writer, adult and childrens books and has 5 blogs, her main one (I hope I´m right) being Elizabeth Mueller

Flags

Probably I´m teaching you all how to suck eggs here but here goes :-D Maybe someone hasn´t seen this method.
This is how I make flags for my bods. The flag used is a 1/32nd scale one.
This Flag I printed off the web...you can find tons of Flags there...a lot of them free. For example, Ray at Don´t throw a 1 blog, does a lovely line in Saxon and Norman flags. Also Warflag and  Dansk Figursspilsforening  have a large range of free Flags and banners.

I cut a piece of tinfoil so that there is a mm or so of gap all around the edge, so that when the two halves are glued together there will be a good bond (tinfoil don´t stick too well)  The tinfoil is then glued to one half using woodglue

One half of the flag is then given a thin smear of woodglue, the flag pole laid along the back crease and the two halves carefully folded together. As you do this be carfull to keep checking the position of the flag pole, making sure it stays central.

After the flag has dried, you can crease and fold it as you want...:-D

Putting up this little article is a bloody good excuse to wave a flag in celebration of the good news that Momcha has become a Father!!!!! :-D Wish him  and his family well here

Sherrif of Nottingham Archer (Barzo)

This 54mm bod was painted by my 5 year old daughter...I didn´t help her in anyway whatsoever!!...all I did was show her where to put which colours, clean brushes properly etc.  I think she shows a real talent eh?

I had to be pretty carefull when I took the pics of this pair...this one, if slightly turned to the left,  reveals what attention to detail Alex gives his sculpts..truly lifelike :-D

Faces

These pair are from my very first post here, Medieval Highwayman, but I just wanted to show that the faces that Alex creates are so wonderfull. The pics aren´t the best in the world but you´ll get what I mean. They are a real joy to paint. :-D
I suggest taking a look at Mike Witakers Blog,Trouble at T´Mill.  Lots of great Wargaming reports. Why it´s been overlooked...I can´t imagine. Makes me wonder though...how many blogs are sittting out there, thier owners plugging along and no-one (or few) have seen them??

Spring Ploughing

The snow has gone, the buds are bursting,  the birds are tweeting and I thought "why not do something that the normal medieval folk would be doing at this time of year ?"

Medieval Tax collector

An older set which still hasn´t been released but I really hope it will be...how could  Valdemar think not too!?
I for one can think of a couple of good uses for it...my medieval city or a target for my Robin hood guys :-D
Just look at the detail...the crossbow and the crucifix. How small is the figure of Jesus!!!!!
That expression. What a miserable grumpy looking bloke!!
This figure would look really good alone
The whole set up with guards ......I want this!!!
Obviously someone isn´t too appreciative of  taxes :-D  (he doesn´t come with the set)
Hello to Joda...thanks for following :-)

Adventurers (Caeser)

Finally I have made up my mind. I was going to do wargaming in the ancient period but lost in building BIG armies. Then I started 3 medieval armies and a medieval city project. The Medieval armies have expanded, the city project is on hold. Then I thought of wargaming in the not too distant future but the other projects hold a little more interest for me. (I still want to do future shock though)
Now I have found a good solution. A medieval based fantasy wargame. This way I can paint up medieval civilians, soldiers, add houses etc as the theme developes and I can have monsters, skellies and the rest as a sideline!!! A medieval town project, medieval army development and a fantasy game all in one!!!

The morning of the 22 January 1879

" Tomkins" is a long suffering character I invented a long time ago when bored (and probably a bit drunk as well )    to get any daft scenarios out of my head. Tomkins is the one in the shirt. His boss is Lord Brashford. The first photographic evidence of  them is  this
The bod at the back is Achmed...who, like Tompkins has learnt to not say a word but just keep going.  The Mule has no name..:-D

Airfix Waterloo french Infantry

I´ve probably painted the flag the wrong way up or something but it´s a set finished so I am happy :-D
How many hours did I spend lining this lot up to oppose the Brits and scotts?...Too many judging by my lack of a suntan in photos as a nipper.

Italeri 1/32nd Romans

Apparently this set is no longer made so I´m going to have to get my hands on a few more if my plans are going to become true. The basic Infantry bods ahve been converted, arms, legs repositioned, necks twisted etc. I can´t remember where the Centurions Head came from...:-
