Fairy

Found chucked away in a skip. A way lot bigger than the usual Bods (she´s 8cm´s tall) but it made a change to upsize and have a rest from historical wargame themed Bods.
Made from Resin, I think the big water lilly was meant for a tea light.
All colours from Art and craft shops, Makes -Kreul or Hobbyline.
To paint The wings were the biggest problem and TBH, I´m not happy with the result.
Pre-Paint
I´ll give her away as a present.

Blast from the past 2

Due to a PM conversation over at the Airfix Tribute Forum it was decided to start a thread showcasing some of our old models from way back.

Unfortunately, well over 90% of my Collection hasn´t stood the test of time. It´s either been given away, lost in the flower beds, broken or binned. 😞
1000´s of 1/72nd bods, 100´s of 1/72nd tanks, planes. Hundreds and hundreds of 1/32nd bods and dozens of 1/32nd scale AFV´s and Buildings...all gone 😢

First up, some 1/32nd - 1/35th scale Multi part german soldiery. There´s a pile more but the glue hasn´t  Held and arms, heads etc have come unstuck.
"Never paint the eyes!"
Three surviving (just) 1/72nd scale tanks. I´ve got some better preserved examples but these are interesting due to one or two small "Upgrades"
An attempt to recreate Zimmerit by pressing a small screwdriver heated over a candle into the plastic.
I can´t even remember having heard of zimmerit back then and how to recreate it

"Battlefield repair". Barrel replacement using a nail, head cut off, pointy end heated up and jammed into the mantel. Note the track is welded onto the hull. This was probably due to the tracks being difficult to attach properly..the joinging lugs virtually always broke.
This one was an attempt at creating an interior. The two blobs next to the ammo rack are the feet of the commander..or perhaps... he just left his boots behind
The red blobs on the photos cover Symbols that are forbidden to reproduce here.

A blonde bombshell by Anne O´Leary
A brunette Amazon by Marzio from Fog´s Soldiers Blog

With different Backgrounds, lighting and camera Settings.

The helmet. I added a Gold "glitter" effect to the "eyes" but it doesn´t Show up in pics!!!
At least the eyes are a bit easier to paint in 28mm.

The Background (Top pics, kindly suggested by Anne) is from Corvus miniatures and can be found, along with four other colour schemes HERE

Blue Dragon

This is a wedding present for an old friend. The dragon is from Warhammer, the Dark elf range and is called Darkelf Dreadlord on Black Dragon.
The kit contains Dragon armour and a multi pose dark elf but all I was after was the dragon.
Not a bad kit as it goes..fitted together well, the joins are virtually undedectable without any work to cover them up.
I didn´t like the idea of the black dragon as on the boxart..so he/she ended up a blue one..with a slight gold sheen
The kit gives a choice of two heads...this one seemed the best.

The base was a bit of a problem. The one provided hasn´t got enough weight to keep the Dragon balanced..the slightest touch would tip it over, so a larger one had to be found. Choice! Round or square!?
Or combine both ideas and have hexagonal one!!  :-D

I took a chance with the water effect (I´m not very good at creating water for dios)
I mixed some plaster of Paris with woodglue and just smeared it on the base (an old picture frame) and then stuck the plastic rock base into the mixture. As it dried I used a toothpick to make the choppy water effect...
A couple of "pre-basing" pics in different light levels.

A recommendation, Alex´s models at Attention to detail blog
If no-one has seen his work I can only suggest having a look...he is IMHO a scratch build artist of the highest degree of skill and accuracy. I can´t even imagine how anyone can have the patience to construct a motorbike chain in 1-1 let alone in 1/6th scale, but Alex does :-D

Hello to Jehan from Lántre de Jehan blog...Lovely 28mm bods..especially (I´m Biased) his dark age and medievals.

Frodo

Ok, it´s not a 100% likeness and I have made him look a bit tired, but it could be used alongside 54mm bods.
The bod came from The Kindersuprise LOTR series.

Before..................................................................
...............................................................and After

The base on the second version was created, made and supplied by Stephane of Dr Willets Workshop.
He´s made some very nice little scenic bases which I can highly recommend. I haven´t done it the justice it deserves. Anyway, you can see his full range of Medieval town Bases, HERE

EXTERMINATE!!!!! (3)

Ok Ray...here are the conversions :-D
The two red Daleks were easy...saw the heads off at the "neck" and glue back on slightly turned to the left or right. Easy peasy!!
The Emporer Dalek was a bit more difficult. Saw off  the gun/arm area, saw off one layer of "blobs" and glue the whole thing back together...like making a nice chocolate cake. ;-D
The head is made from a wooden bead...pinheads for lights. I did do a much better version but scrapped it cos it looked out of style with the other Daleks which don´t have much detail .
YOU WILL OBEY !!!!!
Hello to GReg and  Paint Pig.
