The flags are of Sir John de Botetourt and Thomas de Hatfield, Bishop of Durham
Both bods are from the Zvezda English knights of the 100 yrs war set, the one with the Thomas Hatfield standard is a conversion using one of the foot, his nag is from the Zvezda French Knights set.
The Zvezda horses are among the best horse sculpts in 1/72nd..real fun to paint. |
Reasons;
1. About 60% of the captchas are impossible to read and it takes at least a couple of re-loads or 2-3 failed attempts to post a message. It never did and never will stop the determined human spammers getting thier adverts or dumb comments posted.
2. Even with captchas, tossers going under the name of Anonymous can post thier trashy cowardly little messages or adverts on long "forgotton" posts and the job of removing them (as your blog gets bigger) becomes virtually impossible. With the moderation mode on, you get to see where and what these filth are posting and remove it :-D
Great painting Paul. I love the banners too. After I saw the pics I had to double check you said that the horses were 1/72. They really are excellent :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteIn March I´ll get my hands on the Perry 28mm nags..see what I can do with them
Cheers

Nice work, Paul, and good timing, I just finished reading about Azincourt ;) Are these from the 100YW set?
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteThey are froom the Zvezda english knights, the one with Thomas hatfields standard is a conversion using one of the foot knights.
Cheers

Those are lovely! I agree with you about those captcha things - I can very rarely get them right...
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteThe captchas are bad but the evil "anonymous" tossers are worse..leaving ads for thier sites, usually selling insurance or just posting snotty comments they are too cowardly to put thier names too and worse, using old posts to do so. Gives me a laugh reading them and the satisfaction of sending them into Hyperspace afterwards :-D
Cheers

Fantastic figures and baneers! Really impressive!
ReplyDeletePhil.
Great painting Paul!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tip Paul.
ReplyDeleteNice work, Paul!
ReplyDeleteGreat flags and figs... is that a unicorn? :D (just kidding)
ReplyDeleteI've turned off the captcha because my blog has relatively low traffic, one or two anonymous comments on posts from a year ago and that's all the trouble I encountered. Sometimes the comments still go wrong and the engine handles non-spam ones as spam. Quite funny.
Great figures and painting and the horse flesh really stands out. Look forward to seeing your work with the Perry horses.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are very impressive. I am a big fan of your work.
ReplyDeletePainting, conversion, everything good.
ReplyDeleteHello Paul, As one of my favorite blogs, I've awarded your blog a Leibster Blog Award!
ReplyDeletehttp://meninboxes.blogspot.com/2012/12/a-leibster-blog-award-for-christmas.html
Please accept it and you're to award five other blogs the same honor! Cheers!
Thanks :-D
DeleteI´ll (eventually) get around to passing it on...my time is a bit streteched at the moment..:-D
Great closeup on that horse. You picked up a lot of detail on the armour and I really like the way you got the eye done on him as well.
ReplyDeletea very valuable work Paul!
ReplyDeleteSuper work on the nags Paul.
ReplyDeleteReally good work Paul , the last photo details is fantastic .
ReplyDeletewell done paul and I could not agree more about the capta crap. Blogger seems to catch them all and they only seem to post on one post... not sure why they don't give up? It was the post with the first pictures on my blog... which were taken on an i-pod and therefore crap I updated them after so the spammers are not only posting on a place nobody will look at they are not even getting their stuff shown anyway... a waste of their broadband allowance for the month if you ask me... for no profit they infact loose money :-P
ReplyDeleteExcellent work again Paul! Really love what you did with the armor and the flags!
ReplyDeleteI must have a look at that captcha thingy. I have it on but meaby I'll change it in the way you and others do it. I have a look at it later.
Greetings
Peter

Really magnificent, I adore horses and banners of the big art
ReplyDeleteThese really are tremendous Paul; the details are sublime Sir.
ReplyDeleteWow, the painting is excellent. What sort of brushes are you using?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the CAPTCHA thing, they are just horrendous. Really ruin my blogging experience. I have started using a CAPTCHA bypass extension called RUMOLA to read and fill them in for me to keep my blood pressure at an acceptable level! It works a treat and has made the internet less stressful but it would be better if there just weren't CAPTCHAs at all!
