The first batch of 30 from 120 Napoleonic Austrian Pioneers for the Cröburn 1813 Diorama. or "what it´s possible to speed paint in one day" :-D
They will all form a group along with a set of wagons, which I´ve already painted here.
No blacklining...!!!! |
Every single bod is different...even if they have the same pose, the heads are at a different angle, the equipment is diffrerent. |
Looks like you are in to Napoleontic to me ;-)
ReplyDeleteCool work, like your speedpaintng a lot!
Well done my friend!
Nice work, dare I suggest a little inking????
ReplyDeleteYou dare Ray...but which one? and one that won´t screw up the grey (it took ages to get the right mix)
ReplyDeleteThe thing is..they will more than likely be seen from a distance of over 2 meters away..hence my "speedpainting" of them and not basing them black first and floowing up with blacklining.
Cheers

They're great and I always liked those hats!
ReplyDeleteGreat work for such high speeds.

The Old Soldiers Never Die is Ron Marshall's blog and the id netweork blog is mine. Both have multiple authors of whom Don is one. Perhaps this is why you have misattributed them.
ReplyDeleteSorry!!! it came up showing Don as the Author...but you were also shown as being there..confused? I was :-D Thanks for clearing that up. The recognition blog is a Good idea btw.

Looking good - I see you've given them a grayer shade for their coats. Nice. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteabsolutely great. Love your painting!!!
ReplyDeleteThe master of massive production strikes again!!
ReplyDeleteJen and I often talk about your work but we can't figure out how you can upkeep both QUALITY and QUANTITY.

Thanks
DeleteThese really are a bit of speed painting. They came already based in grey and as the biggest colours are white and grey I didn´t do my usual black base..which would have slowed me down but then enabled some black lining and shading/highlighting. They look ok en masse but close up..not so good.

An old proverb says, "Haste makes waste." But not your case!! Great job, Paul!
ReplyDeleteAll done in one day? - You must use quick drying paint!
ReplyDeleteWell done! - my brain would start dribbling out of my ears if i tried to paint that fast!
Not really one day..just over 5 hours ;-D To get the paint to dry a bit quicker..I put them on a ledge near a 60 watt bulb :-D
