With this lot finished, for Michele from Michigentile´s Microworld Blog, they can now be packaged up and start thier long journey to Michele :-D
The handworkers set.
The tax collectors set.
I´ve just found this site...chock full of info about the middle ages....!!!!!
Lovely painting and figures Paul....
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran :-D
DeleteNeat stuff and more and more convinced to get something like this... Well my medieval 'project' (more like an idea yet) will need some civilians as well and this range looks especially nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrew.
DeleteSeeing as most of medieval society was based on the poor old peasants, as much as 90% were peasants, who would at certain points take up arms (or be told to do so) civilian figs are a necessary part of any medieval collection, I mean..it wasn´t always 2 colourfull armies bashing into each other off and on, most of the warfare was conducted against the civilian population and they did fight back. Virtually every town / city had it´s miltias who were from day to day just workers.

Great set again.
ReplyDeleteWOW! WOW! and WOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! My medieval village will be fabulous!!!
ReplyDeletePS: Your package of figures arrived quickly and you have painted and you're going to post, but I still have not received my ....... grrrrrrrrrrrr
Thanks Michele.
DeleteThey arrived nearly as soon as you sent me a mail that they were coming..the same day I think.
Keep patient with the others ;-D
Cheers
paul
They are great!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of the figures that are coming out in 20mm, there seems a much better availability of civilians in that scale, than in 28mm.
Cheers, Simon
Thanks Simon.
DeleteThere are lots of civvies in 1/72nd available now..and loads more coming..especially in the medieval and roman periods, the new roman sets from Strelets..the spartacus set 2 is a good one and thier crusaders on the march sets, quite a few new civilians there as well.. Not so many civilians elsewhere, period wise, not in plastic anyway, but it´s increasing.
Cheers
