The Big Bang 2

Ok...the last attempt was a failure. Not only did T.Ompkins land messers Bodkin and Bodger with a large medical bill..but the suit of armour was very expensive to replace.
Anyway...after a bit of thinking a new delivery method for the IIII has been found. Ye Olde Teeterboard

After three months of hospital treatment, T.Ompkins Stands ready to test launch the IIII. Everything has been calculated down to the last detail. An extra long fuse has been added in order to compensate for the flying time (and to please the Ye olde Health and safety) .

So....3....2....1...he jumps and.....
What the!!!!??....

DAMM!!!! Another costly hospital bill and a health and safety report to fill out!!!! I triplicate!!!!

The Big Bang (IIII)

Created by Messers Bodkin and Bodger...this is the testing of the "IS IT? ISN`T IT?" bomb
The "IIII" bomb is a very clever piece of medieval engineering, in that it looks EXACTLY like a bomb. This is enhanced by the writing on the "IIII" of the lettering, BOMB. This cunning device is designed to be rolled up to enemy castle walls, the resulting explosion thus creating a breach, through which our fanatical bloodshot eyed knights can charge.
You might be saying to yourself at this moment, "hold on!, if I saw that thing I would bung a bucket of water over it and put the fuse out!!". In this you would be correct and that´s were the clever bit comes in.
By writing "BOMB" on it, the defenders upon seeing it would think,

"IT`S A BOMB!"
the next defender would say, "can´t be, otherwise they wouldn´t write BOMB on it. They just want us to think it´s a BOMB"
To which the next defender would say, "but they might want us to think that, that´s why they´ve written BOMB on it, so it is a BOMB"
"Aha!" another defender says, "maybe it isn´t a BOMB because....."
Anyway you get the idea, and by the time the defenders have decided wether it´s a BOMB or not, the fuse has burnt down....and BANG!

So now to the test field. Here we can see T.Omkins about to light the fuse of the "IIII".
Due to concerns from the YOH&S (ye Olde Health and Safety)  he is  protected by a solid cast iron plate, 8 inches thick and weighing 7 tonnes. He is about to light the fuse.
..3...2...1...
Anyone got a crowbar??? Or a can opener???

The rebellious Folk of "styrow on the fome"

The local towns and villages have got up in arms over the death of Allan Addale and joined the brave (and angry ) folk of Styrow on the Fome. They have elected a leader  democratically during a 15 hour mead drinking session...a certain Rob-In the Hood, a local Gangster who has some experience in fighting but also an expert in heroic poses.
Also, about halfway through the Drinking session, that they would need a frightening standard...the decision was taken to use a head on a pole. The village idiot, Arthur Ritis, who was useless at fighting due to his stiff finger joints volunteered.
Bods from valdemar, Airfix and Zvezda.
Hello to Daz, from Daz´s Model blog. A very skilled model builder...Daz has just posted a great set of WWII re-enactment vehicle Photos..and the photos of his grandfather in the RAF during WWII are cracking. The crashed lancaster pics !!!!

Tax revolt!!!

So..my first wargame for ages. I´m using house rules...a bit of this and a bit of that mixed up to create something that I like. As I can´t just start a battle without there being a reason for it...this is how it will all start :-D
It´s  saturday and market day in the happy little town of Styrow on the Fome
The villagers are going about thier business....
...wares are being sold...friends meeting and chatting...
..children play happily......but all is not well.
Mrs Migs starts to remonstrate with the mayor about the new tax rises demanded  from thier lord and master Sir Hugh Jarse.

The local preist, Geoffrey Black sparrow joins with the argument accusing the Mayor of being a lacky to Sir Hugh Jarse

All this is watched by the local watchmen standing on the steps of the Goalhouse , the crowd jeers at them but they do nothing.
later several of the watch get drunk, taking thier revenge for the insults they had to suffer, beating up several local trades people in a back alley.
Within a short time, an angry crowd has gathered in front of the goalhouse...demanding justice...the situation gets out of hand and both sides clash violently
A deathly shout is heard above the melee and both sides part to reveal the dead body of Alan Add-ale
The shock makes both sides withdraw...but as they do ..a cloaked figure is glimpsed leaving the village.
Who is this cloaked figure and what is his mission?? What will happen next over the death of Alan Add-ale ?
Welcome to melvin...thanks for folowing :-D

Odd bod poses ( Number 1 )

There have been  some odd poses released in sets over the years like this one from the Airfix  World War II German Infantry (type 2)
.....97....98....99....100!! Coming, ready or not!!

To answer a question..."how do I produce so much?"...the answer is..I´ve got a troop of elves. They come out at night, paint etc and in return I give them shoes. Cobblers!I hear you shout, but no..I didn´t say I made them.. There was a sale on at the local toy shop...and seeing as Elf feet are similar in size to barbies. Quite amusing seeing elves tottering about in high heels.

Medieval village ( expansion )

A bit more of the green belt has been taken up.
I´ve added a river and called it the "River Fome" because there are no fish ( Fome in Portuguese means Hungry ) and the Village will be called Styrow...because it started as a row of pig farmers houses...who had.....pigstys.
The full name as written down in the Boomsday book  (there was a lot of thunder at the time) is the Village of Styrow on the Fome.
The Gaol house
Stables with well
Another house
Bridge over the troubled waters of the Fome
Mill.
Rear entrance  ( no sniggering at the back!!  ) to the gaol house
