Unicorn

Originally a Mount from the Modern Mounted Amazons set which didn´t get used as I gave them Nags to ride.
After sitting in the "to do" draw it´s been painted and based and will go off as a X-mas pressie to a 11 year old Girl who collects Unicorns. I mean, there´s two in the set and who needs TWO unicorns!?

What doesn´t Show up in the pics is that the Unicorn has a silver glitter effect added to the Body..not too much as to be over the top ala, My Little pony....just a Little to add a bit of "Magic"

Chosen more or less at random, the pose being more a deciding factor than  any particular personality from the set.

Louis Philippe Albert of Orleans. (Philippe d'Orléans, the Count of Paris) As noted at PSR, an odd sort of Personality to add to the set.

It would be great if Strelets re-released thier Union General Staff 1. A lot of the bods could be used as Regimental or artillery commands, , both Union or Confederate.

Pickett´s Charge 2 - Strelets

17th Tennessee Infantry Regiment.

The officer.

 The bod on the far right. Surrendering or signalling to maintain/hold the line?

 Two brigades.

A couple of Union General staff, the wounded from the various Strelets sets and a couple more scenery/Building  bits and maybe some movement trays to do and another Battle can be fought.

Covered Bridge

A  break from bod painting... couple more bits for the ACW Project, another house and a covered Bridge. Both constructed  using card from cereal boxes and a bit of wall paint.
As with the other Buildings,  durability and Close to the "look" rather  than historical accuracy  being the main considerations..

The First Bridge was, is, still ok but wasn´t quite as versatile as the new one, which can be put anywhere along the river sections. 

US Infantry in Attack 2 - Strelets

The one Thing about painting Union troops...easy but a wee bit tiresome. Easy as it´s  not a lot of effort  due to the same colours for each bod but tiresome for the same reason.

Oddly, they are all in step. Would they be in step when attacking ?

I like the officer´s pose, just about to draw his sword.

So, that´s all the Union troops painted, for now.
2 Brigades worth?

As for size, the Strelets and Airfix bods fit well alongside each other.

Pickett´s Charge 1 - Strelets

The 11th Mississippi.
45 bods in 19 poses. One wounded and the usual Streltsi..so this time only 3 repeat poses needed including to make up the 20 required.

Who´se been pilfering from the artillery clothing store? 

Another "pointing at ...what" ? Bod

The poses are not too dissimilar to the  Confederate Troops on the march set which, adding both sets togehter,  would make it possible to create an 80+ man Regiment. Add a few from the Union Infantry on the March and the US Troops in Attack and the Regiment could number well over 100.

Using only 20  from each set has left me with a lot of spare bods. I´m going to have a bit of Patience and hope that Strelets will bring out the various foot command bods as a seperate set. If they do, then I can create a couple more Regiments.
If not, I can get hold of enough command bods to represent one regimental command group and use up the spares in some sort of dio.

US Troops in Attack - Strelets

47 bods in 21 poses of which,  one is a Streltsi and 3 are wounded / dead. Also..two officer poses. That makes 15 usable poses so to reach the  20..
One  bod was recruited from the Union Infantry on the march set and 4 repeat poses from the set .

Flag is the 21st Ohio Veterans Volunteer Regiment.
Note; The left boot of the right Hand Standard bearer got re-painted after the pics were taken.

Most of the soldiery poses have the bods carrying their muskets on the right arm apart from one who´se pointing at...?..

Bods and Generals (2)

The one Thing that Strelets really does well, is produce original bods that otherwise are only available in Metal. That, added to their recent new sculpting look and massive output, makes them, IMHO, presently, the leading Producer of 1/72nd bods.

I´m only going to use 4 from the set, the full 12 would be a bit much considering the size of the army at present.

I´ve added small printed labels to keep track of who´se who. At some point I´ll be making labelled movement trays for the rest of the army  as it´s become too big to move them about in blocks of two bods at a time.

Confederate Troops on the March - Strelets

Like the Union soldiers on the march set, 20 poses, one of them a Streltsi.
As with the previous 3 sets, a minimal  bit of Flash needed dealing with.
Flag is the 30th Arkansas Infantry Regiment,

The bods have an irregular  mix of uniforms and Equipment like knives, hatchets. Two  carry Knapsacks...so either they are on the march from/to somewhere  or marching into Action on the battlefield although, I thought Knapsacks were left off when going into Action..or?

The 2nd Winsconsin got a new Standard bearer...the OOB one holding the Standard  at an angle looked out of place.

Union Infantry on the March - Strelets

20 bod poses in this set..so, again not including the Streltsi, 19 poses. One is reckoned to be a Sergeant but I´ve put him to one side..maybe he´ll end up as an Artillery officer. As with the sets, there´s  only one Standard bearer so two rank and file bods had to be drafted in to make up the numbers.

Again, a doddle to paint and very Little Flash.
The Standard is the 15th Winsconsin.

A bit of "Nature News".....4 more Urchins have been Born in our garden.

Two Portrait shots. They are quite Young and tiny..compare them to the Ivy leaves :-)

Two days ago there was a cheeping noise from the nest. I thought it was a bird being disturbed by them moving about but no...it was one ot the Urchins cheeping!!! I never knew that hedgehogs could cheep but apparently they do it when they want to Signal to thier mother.
The next evening I waited for them to come out and one was so happy it´d found a big slug..it cheeped!

Confederate Infantry Standing - Strelets

Another Regiment for the ACW Project, this time for the C.S.A.
Discounting the Bonus bod, a Streltsi, 21 poses.  Three aren´t much use in the regimental line up,  the camera man and two "Generals"  which means two repeat poses have to be drafted in the make up the regulation 20 bods per Regiment.
The thing I really like about these bods, the Minimalist Details. No hundreds of Buttons to paint, the sculpts have just enough detail to look the part and it doesn´t require  "professional level" painting skills to produce a decent looking bunch for the wargames table.
Not only that,  my set had ZERO Flash that needed removing!!!!
The Flag is the 16th Tennessee Volunteer Infantry.

It´s not due to the angle of the pic, the bods are genuinley different heights, just like in real life.

The camera man OOB,  looks away from the direction his  camera is facing but a quick neck twist and he faces the right way.
The two Generals are reckoned to be representations of Robert E Lee and  James Longstreet.
