Hurrah!!! Another set done. :-D
Officer and "bandies". Obviously the noise was too much for one of them and he´s collapsed. The standard bearer..what a pain!!! The bloody flag is so heavy he keeps trying to headbutt the floor and needed a bit of wax under his base. The original base for the Nag is long gone...a chunk from a broken RHA base has been recomissioned.
Firing line (a bit spread out) ...skateboarder on the far left
They look great. Bright, clean colours and the tartan's done very well. You've put together some good scenes. Elf on foot in the bottom picture too.
ReplyDeleteFantastic painting as ever.
ReplyDeleteIs the drummer the son of the backpipe walla, as he looks jolly small?
ReplyDeleteGood to see this set again Paul and I think I've still got a few kicking around since my younger days of refighting Waterloo.
Could never decide if the standard was being lowered in defeat or raised in victory? Nice paint job that man.
Great stuff and I see you're using the tin of tartan paint again very nice especially the flag.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why I wrote backpipe and not bagpipe?
ReplyDeleteLooking great. Especially like the tartan and the skateboarder..
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Michael
Nice work. I had that set too. Overall very good sculpts. I'm still amazed at what Airfix used to put out so long ago. Regards, Dean
ReplyDeleteGreat work on the Tartan, is it just me or are some of those kilts a little short!!
ReplyDeletePeace James
they look amazing, great work
ReplyDeleteFantastic !!!Great stuff
ReplyDeleteI have not the courage to start painting my Airfix Waterloo Highland Infantry. Maybe one day I will start :-)
Amazing detail on the painting - the white contrast of the belts and straps on the uniforms is great.
ReplyDeleteGreat work on the tartan
ReplyDeleteLovely job on the jocks. Pretty decent figures for the age of them I believe.
ReplyDeleteOutstanding Job, Paul! Brilliant. Brings back memories, this was one of my first Airfix sets in the 70`s!
ReplyDeleteI always had the question of the skateboardings' origin!!
ReplyDeleteIts the Scots mate!!!!! :-)
Thank you!!!!
Great work!
T.
Thanks :-D
ReplyDeleteAh..the memories :-D I ve still got about 400 of these ...but only one standard bearer and the one skateboarder.
The flag is handpainted...never again!!!
Cheers
Paul
