Roman Legion on the march (Strelets)

What the roman grunt spent a lot of his time doing :-D
Not a bad set..it includes The heavy infantry and auxillaries. PSR review Here
Column made up from two sets from strelets, Hat standard bearer and Zvezda musician and Imaginifier
Legionaries. I know...the tunics are  red..highly unlikely but it looks good
Auxillaries
Legionaries from behind. Note the bod at the rear right corner...those bendy strelets spears!!!!! They should really get to grips on this point...having the spears cast along the shaft onto the sprue makes one hell of a job to cut them free.
Auxillaries from behind . Cavalry coming soon :-D
Hello to Waz...thanks for following

  3. As always I am amazed. I see what you mean about those spears. Seeing them marching along on the walkway reminded me of all those roads Rome was so keen to build. O.T. After reading your comment yesterday I did some research and found some Albatros C.XII model kits. They are for sale on your side of the Atlantic. As I guessed there is a Polish kit (Airmo # 72004 - Albatros C.XII (1/72) resin and photo-etched bits £23.4211 or €26.3392, the price was given in Polish currency), a British kit (Joystick #15 Albatros C.XII (1:72) vacform £9.40 or € 10.5712 Euro), and several paper models. Told you I was a bit obsessive. ;^]

    Cheers

@Will...thanks...I´ll look those up..I´ve still got to get my Roden AlbyDIII, Fokker DVII, Toko PfalzDXII, Airfix R.E.8 and Revell sopwith camel finished...time to reduce my stash a bit and fill the display cabinet :-D
    Cheers

PS..I nearly went and bought another 4 yesterday including a Sopwith tri-plane but I put temptation aside and only got the Alby DIII.
The rigging has gone pretty well on this one...so far

  7. Nice pics Paul, but man those Pilum are rather big? If I was a Roman and it all went pair shape, then I'd ditch the pilum first and then run for the hills.

  11. Sorry that should be Pear shaped, rather than pair shaped, which is a whole new ball game?

  12. No one knows for sure what early Roman infantry clothing colours were, so I would go for that rather fetching red too! - Well done again sir!
