Lady Godiva ( Painted )

One of Alex´s sculpts...I don´t know what I´ll do with her on the field of battle, a distraction piece maybe but I had to have this model in my collection.
Thanks to the quick delivery sevice from Petra and Conny from Fredericus - rex :-D

I´ve tried taking pics in different lighty and settings...I am not 100% happy with any of the results.
Here´s a bit of history about the lady and her exploit...Lady Godiva

  1. The historical thinking is that she did not go in the buff, but just took off all her jewelry and good quality cloths and wore rough old cloths.

Time and I guess us blokes, just spun that as being starkers.

  3. Great paint job, as usual. The quality of the sculpt is also quite something. I prefer the brighter (whiter) photos personally. I wonder what would happen if you tried a blue filter, perhaps even as a post effect?

  5. Lovely! - Is that Messrs Bodger and Bodkin in the horse?
Actually - love the castings - stunningly natural!

  7. Lovely job as always Paul.
She would make a great wargame objective to capture!

  8. Nice figurine and you did it (her) full justice.

Lady Godiva is generally depicted riding side-saddle, but if the full story is a fiction (a beloved excuse for Pre-Raphaelite nude paintings), who cares?

A 18th C. 'Imagi-Native' wargamer is 'dressing' an other Lady Godiva as a honorary Colonel...

  10. Now there's a pretty little thing; the rider is not bad either. Great work Paul.

  11. That's a pretty figure. I agree about side saddle BUT I'm not complaining. I think the men watching her ride side saddle on the left side of the road cheered "Hooray for Our side!"

  15. Now I cant tell whether those are roses or tulips down there, but they are a nice touch too all the same. It takes a while to notice them as a finish.
