The Knighthood

As these are dressed in early medieval armour (Lamellar armour) and not high medieval knights, I thought it best if they were to be part of the teutonic orders. I was going to use a classic templar flag but I like the look of this one which represents  the (Vogt) Bailiff  of Roggenhausen. They were levy to the teutonic crusades but the armour would fit to the period, and with no other markings, heraldry etc, they can be mixed with other medieval bods.
The soldier recieving the knighthood has had his surcoat torn at the left shoulder and is holding it up with his right hand. Wether a Bailiff (Vogt) could give someone the titel of  knight I´m not sure..
The set Comes with a set of gloves and a helmet
A servant (of the "king") and a knight reading out the deeds for which the soldier is being knighted. Judging by the fact that the Vogt has one arm in a sling, maybe the kneeling knight saved him during  battle.

  8. Paul:
I really like these bods. Lots of character, and your work on the faces really brings that out. I like the lord with his arm in the sling, that's a lovely pose. That's a long scroll, so either a verbose scribe, or that guy did a lot to win his spurs.
I'm currently reading the latest of S.M. Stirling's Change novels, Tears of the Sun. His Portland Protective Association, a feudal society built by Society reenactors after the end of modern civilization, is a clever idea and these photos could be illustrations from that book.
    Cheers,
    Mike

A feudal society built after the end of modern civilisation...sounds like it could be the way things may go. :-D

  9. Nice scene :) In the thumbnail looked like it might have been a photo from a movie :)

I did away with captcha long ago and don't use moderation, I've found that the spam filter catches nearly every spam comment. I've only had 2 get through in the last year, and since checking the comments lists them in order posted rather than by blog post, those two were easy to find and delete.

    1. Thanks.
It wasn´t so much the spam...there wasn´t much of that, about 10 in the last year (and some legitimate bloggers comments got put in the spam box) but the sneak posts by a mr or mrs anonymous on older posts. Not adverts and such but political world views..and IMHO, views that don´t belong being attached to, what s after all, a hobby.

  10. nice woark paul. they are a nice little mobile scene :-)

as for captcha I hope it is gone, it does not stop anything only people like me who are dislexic and need 2 hours to figure them out. I exagerate but it is annoyingly hard to read them.

The captchas are getting worse..the ones that are photos blurred street sign or lampost or gate numbers...sometimes I just guess..seems to work though ..mostly :-D.
The better thing with having the moderation on is not only are the captchas gone but if any weird comments turn up on old posts then I can see straight away. Some of them were very bad and by me not finding and deleting them it made me feel as is I was, by leaving them, agreeing with thier loonacies.

That´s the good thing with alex´s sculpts..not just the poses but the faces.he has a real talent for putting emotion into them...you can almost tell what they might be thinking.

  16. Those minis have great proportions and I think you've done them justice too - the cloth and mail are very special. The tones and textures are the kind of radiant, grimy real of the bases.

I've been getting a lot of spammy stuff lately, but so far the filter seems to have caught it all. I'm impressed, but I wonder how long it can last, and what's going on that there's been an uptick.
