Bodston Builders

I haven´t the time to build a cabin myself and even though their rates can be high, somebody´s got to build the place

Posts set to mark the outline of the cabin.

    1. Thanks Paul.
It was created on the spur of the moment...(seems to work best for me..if I plan it it always goes to c**p)as I realised that an Imagi-Nation,not only has to be populated but it has to be built as well.

The writing up of the world of Bodstonia is taking up a lot of time so I´m working on getting a few to paint themselves, not easy though. They seem to have thier own ideas as to what colours they should use.

  7. Hello!
Excuse me if this is off topic, but I couln´t find any email adress. I´ve just started to paint some of Caesar Miniatures fantasyfigures for an upcoming D&D-game. As this is my first time painting miniatures I´ve browsed the internet for some tips and ideas. I read somewhere on this blog about putting figures in boiled (boiling?) water to straighten out bent weapons. I would be grateful if you or anyone would explain this process to me. I´ve tried to put pent weapons in boiled water for a few seconds, and then reshape them with a set of pliers. The result was better but not great, and I´m thinking I might do something wrong.
    Great blog by the way!

    1. Hi Andy.
I keep meaning to add a Mail address, but I keep forgetting..Basically, Modern Kiwi has it right, you put them in boiling water (not actually still bubbling just very hot water) . The heat alters the "memory" of the plastic..so it can be reset. Leave the bod in the hot water for about 30 seconds, then remove with tweezers or small pliers (to prevent a scolding) and quickly straighten the arm, sword or whatever with either another pair of tweezers or if your painthreshold is high, your fingers. Either Hold in requied position for a couple of seconds or whilst maintaining the required position plunge into cold water. It doesn´t always work first time, especially with the caeser plastic. With softer (HaT) or harder plastic (Zvezda) it´s easier but the caeser palstic is sort of halfway between the two.
Are you on blogger and is this you on the wizards community?

    2. Thank you, I´ll try that!
No that´s not me. I registered on blogger just to be able to post a comment, and when I had to come up with an alias my eyes fell on the Andy Capp figure standing on my bookshelf. I must confess I dont really know what blogger is.
Yesterday I began to try and convert a Caesar goblin into a hobbit. I started with making the head more hobbitlike and adding trousers made from green stuff. Right now he looks like a cyborg in a MC Hammer-outfit. I´ll get on with the shirt tonight, and after that try to hide it all in a cloak.

  8. They look great Paul, I like the look of your camp under construction.

Andy Capp, you need to dip them into cold water once they're in the shape you want as that "freezes" them into the new shape.

  10. As others already have said, really nice work with the terrain! Perhaps a starting point for a ACW or WWI (or any other conflict!) trench scene???
