More medieval drunks

The medieval drunks set from Alex has been added to...I love this set..an absolute must have for my medieval village.
This guy I´ve nicknamed  Timothy...he has such a resemblence to one of my favourite actors Timothy Spall
Obviously this pair will get a bench or chair...I don´t think even the most skilled drunk can keep his balance whilst doing this. :-D

Thomas De Burgh

Thomas de Burgh   who is actually the ancestor of a famous singer...the things you learn eh??
The standard is taken from the Grimsby Wargames Club site...loads of great WOTR flags and others as free downloads
The set is Valdemars first and last adventure into injection plastic sets.
The set, medieval army on the march  contains 14 bods but nearly half of them are useless due to flash.
The weapons supplied are virtually useless, it´s near impossible to remove them from the sprue,  so these lot all got Florist wire spears
Picture is a bit dark...(overcast) Maybe because they are mourning their comrades who drowned in Flash. Two others were saved and are now hanging about with some smelly peasants in Styrow on the Fome.
Hello to Georges Guynemer..from Gignogne la Plus Brillante Blog.  He´s only just kicked off in the blogging world. The spring pistol for shootng bods...nice one :-D
Hello Rene from Paint_in blog. Another of us who likes huge armies (in Plastic and tin)
Hello to Artar İncidüzen...Facebook?? Thanks for following :-D

Medieval Lovers (1/72nd)

Ok...I´m obsessed with Alex´s sculpting and even if it has absolutely no use whatsoever for wargaming in any shape or form I´ll get hold of it and paint it...

It´s Ok, they are married, she´s wearing a ring

Late republican Roman army (1/72nd)

The last of my ancient armies...well for now at least: :-D
Bods mainly from Italeri but some from Caeser and comand bods (aquilifier and cornicen) from Zvezda

One of the biggest complaints about the Italeri set (PSR review here) is that there is two poses that are repeated 15 times each...but...........
......with a bit of bending ....
...and arm twisting ..................
.........you can get a hell of a lot of poses from them :-D
The  scorpian is from hat. The basket I weaved myself from pins and sowing thread.
The "bugler" is converted from the hornblower in the Odemars Oscan infantry set, the commander from the hat Roman comand set

Celt army (1/72nd)

Or gemanics, or barbarians or whatever...a generic army to scrap with the romans..anytime...anywhere
Painted this lot up about the same time as the roman army.
Bods from Revell, Italeri, Hat and Airfix.
The "Skyclad" boys

Mix of Hat Goths, Italeri and Hat celts

The battle taxis

Queen Beau Dicker getting ahead

A couple of hat foot command converted to mounted command
Hello to Paul from Warriors and wargames  blog. He´s just started blogging and his VBCW pics are great...the G.P.O armoured vehicle is excellent

Republican Roman army 1/72nd

Not as big as the Imperial one..and was a lot easier to paint...no shield designs...For this lot I managed to knock out over 20 bods a day. All bods from hat, cavalry from Zvezda
Not very big at all eh?
One of my favourite sets from Zvezda..pity they didn´t do an Imperial cavalry set.
Every cavalry commander has to have a dog (post Gladiator)

Imperial Roman army. (1/72nd)

Took a while to paint this little lot :-D Now where are those celts hiding ??
To all you nice Uncles at La Armada..You might not like the scale..but you all came and looked, Saludos, :-D Paul
The bods are from...Airfix, Italeri, Hat, Revell, Orion, Strelets and Zvezda

Every shield painted by hand

The Italeri Archers stripped of armour...and I´ve added bowstrings ;-D
Balearic slinger command figs converted from orion gladiator set
The strelets sets don´t come with  command bods.....a bit of greenstuff and using bits from other roman sets and they get some commanders.
Hello to Patrick Mondria...thanks for following but your google friends connection doesn´t work.
Hello to Mike .from NorthpeaceWargames and  Fantasy battle Roundup blogs. The eyecandy on the FBR blog!!!!!! Excellent!!!

Lady Godiva ( Painted )

One of Alex´s sculpts...I don´t know what I´ll do with her on the field of battle, a distraction piece maybe but I had to have this model in my collection.
Thanks to the quick delivery sevice from Petra and Conny from Fredericus - rex :-D

I´ve tried taking pics in different lighty and settings...I am not 100% happy with any of the results.
Here´s a bit of history about the lady and her exploit...Lady Godiva

medieval bombard experiment

Due to a couple of accidents, caused by the massive recoil of the weaponary, messers Bodkin and Bodger have designed a "Re-coiless Cannon"

This is achieved, not with springs, oh no!!. Not with counterweights, ramps, levers or any other such infernal devices, but by the simple device of opening the rear of the cannon to allow the hot gases to escape, therefore not creating pressure that will throw the device backwards.

After several operations and the laying on of leeches, T.Omkins is out of intensive care and has kindly deemed to help test this cunning device.

Here we see him about to light the fuse.
3....2...1....

....and,.... oh!!! that doesn´t look right somehow...
no..not right at all!!
Can anyone smell tinned meat cooking??

Hello to pahoota from Solipsist gaming  and Atticusmactapia from El espacio de Atticus.
I´ve said hell to both and not individually because they both have very similar blogs...loads and loads of very clever scratch building. For example, pahootas last post about making thatched huts is inspired thinking as is Atticus´s creation of cypress trees. Both are well woth the visit and a run through their archives on how to make and do.

Late Roman army ( 1/72nd )

A project started a few years ago...but never finished. I lost interest after seeing the excellent bods that Alex was producing...and went from ancients to medievals.
All bods from Hat or Miniart and all the shields hand painted...another reason for loosing heart
Back then (4 years ago)..I didn´t add bowstrings !!
