Airfix Waterloo French Artillery

Another set of Airfix bods and the last artillery set  (from purely figures sets that is)The uniform blue looks a bit bright and I´ve been informed that grey horses wouldn´t have been used to pull gun carriages. What really worries me though is how do those nags survive with big wooden stakes stuck in one side of them!!? ;-D

  1. Great scene. The stake / horse conundrum reminds me of that Christopher Ecclestone Doctor Who episode with the nanobots that rebuilt casualties as one with what they were wearing. Spooky.

  2. I believe losses were high among artillery horses, excellent stuff you've done there.

  3. Lovely. I remember this set well, though I never did much by way of painting them. Another set moulded in yellow plastic I think?

  5. I had those guys too! Along with the French Infantry & British Highlanders. I loved those figures. The only pose I felt awkward was the French Infantry guys ramrodding their muskets - they looked like they were falling over a bit. Dean

  9. That's a nice little base. As with others, brings back memories of my youth and many battles fought with lego and marbles!

Before I started painting them of course!
