Dark & Light Alliance Southern Kingdom Warriors 1

 Definately inspired, as the review over at PSR says, from the LotR films.

First up the swordsmen. Three grunts and the boss. 

The archers. The two on the right of the top pic are females. All the bods in the set are pretty heavily armed, most have at least a dagger and a sword, even the archers and most carry bags, sacks and two thier cloaks rolled up on thier backs. 

Some of  them wear a layer of gambeson, leather jerkin and chainmail and presumably a cloth shirt underneath as well!! 

TBH, a nice set and it even allows for conversion possibilities. 

Heads swopped, shields removed and replaced with card ones. Not exactly 100% medieval, they are dressed more like the types who inhabit medieval fairs, but could be used in a loose medieval setting or as members of the  Esgarothym common soldiery. 

Now there´s an idea for those at Dark Alliance... Esgarothym guard and a town militia. Call them Water folk or something similar. Another one would be for them to create a set (or maybe two) of halflings. One set of Halfling travellers / adventurers and  another of town guard.....maybe two sets of town guard..one with lots of archers and slingers, another with pitchforks, flails, a couple with swords (large knives) and clubs. 

............and a set of halfling civvies...which would give me an excuse to create a couple of hobbit holes.

And a small diversion from the NMA. The crusader is a resin bod....Valdemar(?), the Nag is from the Zvezda French Knights set.

The first pic isn´t really part of the NMA, more part of the medieval marching column.

Mule with luggage..the plastic is semi translucent which is the type of plastic used by LW and other "copy-cat" makers but I can´t find it in thier listings at PSR. The dog is from the Imex Eastern Friendly Indians, the female from a Strelets set..I´ve forgotten which and the bod leading the Mule is from Valdemars medieval builders set 1

Unloaded donkey.....or, just about to get loaded dokey.  The bod is from the strelets English Longbowmen set. The donkey from the Strelets Roman Transport (2) set 

The main body is from Valdemars Medievals on the march set. The head with arms and barrel from Strelets Medieval Britain set.

One on my "wish list" - that Strelets makes a Medieval camp set..no Carts,  tents or whatever..just civies and foot soldiers. A sort of lower orders set to accompany the excellent (and now rare) Medieval Britain set.
