Orc Warband

I think I´ve just about exhausted any possible conversions from the Ceaser Orc Warriors set.
The whole warband together.
Archer with a flail (Minart Hussites) and axe orc with a halberd (Redbox Men-At-Arms and retinue) and head swop
As they have so few archers of thier own and don´t like to rely on shields for protection they drive prisoners amongst thier lines to put off enemy archer fire.
The torch is from the Zvezda Medieval Peasant Army set and the sword is from the Atlantic Gladiators and Christians set.
The boss orc and his Goblin Bodyguard
New recruits for their warband have been spotted in a dark grotto..all from Dark Alliance
Wargs
Orc light warg riders
Orc Heavy warg riders
Orc warriors set 3

Hello to Robin ( redrob ) from Atelier-Robin... Whatever he paints turns to gold....his Ele dio alone is worth a look...

  1. Very well done. Of course every pillaging army has prisoners to use as bullet (or arrow) catchers, why would orcs be an exception?

  4. Very nice! They are different from the usual stereotypical orcs.

  5. Great conversions as usual. I don't recognize the body guards, ones with the brownish skin. Those Dark Alliance sets look great, are they in production?

  6. Love it when you take a stroll down the Dark Side Paul. The conversions on these are great, brushwork excellent and that standard-brilliant.

  7. These are absolutly fabulous. I've only ever modelled Orcs for BloodBowl. But if I had a Warband these would be it. Just brilliant.

  8. Reading Tolkien I have noticed that the Orks speak like lower class British. Class prejudice by Tolkien?

Orks are the expendable bad guys as you don't feel any empathy for those that die, like movie Nazis.
Paul, your examples are particularly good and not too Peter jackson-ish.

    1. I was just about to sk whether these orks hale from Mordor. something about that eye on the flag reminds me of a certain dark lord.

    2. They´ve nothing to do with Tolkien (in my world) The eye symbol just turned out to be the easiest to paint on the small flag (the big one´s a printed one)
I tried skulls...they looked like pirates, then some odd symbols but it all looked to odd so the eye got picked.
