56 Bods x 4 Sprues x 14 poses.
There´s a bit of flash on some of the Bods but it´s not a lot so not too much effort to remove it.
Bows and JavelinsSpearsAxesSwords...sorry, Scramaseax. The review at PSR on this set isn´t exactly glowing. Apart from the Bod swinging his Scramaseax with both hands and the Bod holding his spear with both hands (Right of the pic with the Spearmen) I like them and there is room for conversions.
Nice painting! I must admit that I didn't find this set very attractive, but I might change my mind after what I saw here :)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Thanks Phil. The problem with places like PSR is that you see the bods as are. It´s put me off getting some sets seeing them on PSR but now I look to see if I can possibly easily convert, if that´s ok then I´ll get them, everything else comes when they are put under a magnifying glass.
DeleteHappy X-mas
Well done Paul, lovely figures!
ReplyDeleteThey look great! And super job on the bases. Strelets are the best. Hope you had a great Christmas!
ReplyDeleteGreat painting. I love the natural tones- very nice!
ReplyDeleteGreat as always Paul.
ReplyDeletePicking up on your final comment and discussion with Phil, I really like Plastic Soldier Review's detailed reviews and excellent images of the figures, but find that I rarely agree with the scoring, particularly for figures that are a bit 'chunkier' or more 'animated', but also those that may not be the most beautiful unpainted but come up a treat with painting. It is marvellous that the reasons for the scores are always given, which, along with the photos, helps me to make an initial judgement—often that the reasons given for a poor score are those for a better one in my book!
Regards, James
Good to see the bows stringed and your painting brings them to life.
ReplyDeleteGreat job as always. Love your style.
ReplyDeleteI also don't agree with PSR ratings on many figure sets. I like that they show what you will get in the box , that's it.
I still like airfix and esci.
