El Cid Andalusian Heavy Cavalry

Not a bad set but not one of the best. For a start the horses are too thin and the riders legs are spread too wide, meaning they don´t sit properly in the saddle. A couple of the horse poses have a lot of extra plastic between the back legs meaning a bit of knifework.
The riders legs are leaning a bit to the short side.., the one with the lance, his legs look way too short.
Stil..a usefull set for building a Moorish army

I haven´t bothered with putting any Arabic writing on the shields yet.

  1. They don't look too bad at all Paul...

  2. Painting can do justice to these guys too - writings on the shield would add that extra bit. Do these faults mean you're going to convert some?

    1. Thank Andrew
I´ve converted one already but there are some sets where you can convert and convert, think you´ve run out of ideas and a while later you see another possibility and some sets, this being one of them where there doesn´t seem to be a lot of possibilities. I might do some swopping of parts between this and the Spanish cav or the Almoravid sets.

  7. Maybe not the best set, but you did a great job on them! I like the colours!

PS: thanks for the tips on these figures. Now I know where I have to look when I start painting them! ;-)

  8. :D I'm with Peter!!
You know, these guys had short legs indeed, that's why they were in the cavalry! They weren't fast enough for the infantry! :P
