John Bourchier - 2nd Lord Berners. I´ve painted up the TD Archers and Crossbowmen in his colours so they needed someone to lead them.
Nags from the Zvezda French Knights set as is the standard bearer and the bottom half of John. His top half is from the Zvezda French Infantry of the Hundred years war set.
Spot the slight mistake with John. Standard printed and edges touched up.
Do these guys ever get to fight?
ReplyDeleteExcellent work, Paul! Did you string the bows?
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonathan..I did string them :-)
DeleteLooks like Lord John has a sword in his scabbard, in addition to the one he is holding? Fine looking troops, regardless! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Norman. Lord John does have an extra sword.
DeleteFantastic!
ReplyDeleteI Win! Its a mistake I have made myself! The sword is still in the scabbard, yet is in his hand!
ReplyDeleteYep...I did notice before I painted him but thought..what the hell? :-)
DeleteLovely, but will these guys get a chance to fight?
ReplyDeleteSimply mesmerising......

This banner is simply wonderful, I love it!
ReplyDeleteRegarding the mistake, who among us didn't make it several times ? :D
My goodness these are well done. You strung the bows too!!
ReplyDeleteI cannot see a problem with John; the beauty about an uneducated eye such as mine regarding things mediaevial!
Regards, James
Thanks James :-) His second sword. Whilst converting i took care not to remove it or the handle as i was going to use another tophalf, but decided on the one as shown and forgot to remove the handle of his sheathed sword...DOH! Still, he´s rich so can afford a spare :-)
DeleteThat looks really stunning. I love the banner. Do you have a source for that? I've also assembled some forces of John Bourchiers, and have not had much luck in finding out how the banner would have looked.
ReplyDeleteHi. The only source I can now find is this one

I did find another source but how I came across it I cannot remember
That's perfect. I can recreate that. Thanks!
