    1. Thanks.
Most of the flags are printed out, but some have been repainted to match the colours of the standard bearer, ie, the yellow/red of the Harcourt flags made a bit darker.

  15. HI Paul,

Fantastic looking figures, lovely paintjobs all round.

Sorry to be pedantic but I believe the banner labeled as 'John Lord Sutton' is in fact that of Roger de Somery, his banner was the two blue lions passant guardant (Or two lions passant guardant azure) as shown with your figure.

    http://www.briantimms.net/era/heralds/heralds03/Heralds03.htm

Sutton's personal heraldic banner was a two tailed rampant green lion (Or a lion rampant queue-fourchy Vert).

I think the confusion is that both the de Somery followed by the Sutton familes were Lords of Dudley with John Sutton VI later becoming known as 'Lord Dudley' during the 15th C. I've noticed several flag download sites have the mislabelled the flag as Sutton (although I could be wrong!).

I believe it was Somery who fought at Crécy so the banner would still correct.

    Regards,
    Matt

    1. Thanks matt.
Be pedantic please,´such info is well worth having. During my research into the flags I´ve come up with one or two (they are put to one side for further investigation) that seem to belong to other people or just appear totally wrong.

  17. You are raising the 'standard' Paul and to think that is only 10%. Very impressive.
